In the heart of Dnipro, near the walls of the Historical Museum, lies a unique collection of over 80 Polovtsian stone sculptures, known as "stone women," gathered from across Ukraine. To protect these structures, they have been encased in special armored houses, which are now adorned with artwork. This was reported by "Vydomo" referencing "Dnipro Info".

The exhibition, which arguably represents the largest collection of such anthropomorphic sculptures in the world, is an invaluable testament to the history of the nomadic peoples of the Eurasian steppes who thrived here for millennia. Some of the exhibits are over five thousand years old, making them some of the oldest surviving examples of this art form.

Recently, to ensure the preservation of the collection, each "stone woman" was placed in an individual protective box.

A decision was made to decorate the outer surface of the protective boxes with artistic images. As a result of meticulous work, vibrant drawings depicting the wildlife of the steppes, scenes from the lives of nomads, and stylized images of shamans emerged, creating a harmonious symbiosis of ancient history and contemporary art.

The project for the artistic design of the protective boxes has become a striking example of combining the preservation of historical heritage with a modern creative approach.
