President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the parliament's decision to cancel a meeting due to the risk of a missile strike from Russia.
His statement was made during an evening address to the nation.
Zelensky emphasized that the missile threat cannot be ignored under any circumstances, but when there are no alarms, "the state, businesses, embassies – all must operate as usual."
"And to perceive information, particularly from intelligence, as just that – information, not as permission for a day off. This applies to everyone – from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and other structures and branches of government to the management bodies in regions and communities," he stated.
Zelensky added that when there is no air raid alert, Ukrainians should work and serve.
"In war, there is no other way. We must understand that 'comrade' Putin will continue to intimidate us," the president concluded.
Let us recall that yesterday the media reported that members of parliament were warned about a potential threat of Russian shelling of the government quarter. The session of the Verkhovna Rada scheduled for November 22 was canceled.
Today, parliament confirmed the cancellation of the session. Other state authorities in central Kyiv also operated under restrictions.
