The Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is threatening to use his "Oreshnik" missiles to escalate the situation and disrupt any peace efforts.
This opinion was expressed by President Vladimir Zelensky during his evening address to the nation.
He noted that during his visit to Kazakhstan today, the Russian leader "once again promoted his missiles." Zelensky believes that Putin's statements regarding the use of "Oreshniks" are aimed at hindering newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump.
"He does not want this war to end. Moreover, Putin wants to prevent others from ending this war as well. He can only wave his 'Oreshnik' now to disrupt President Trump's efforts, which will definitely occur after the inauguration. Putin aims to escalate the situation now so that President Trump is unable to achieve anything and cannot end the war," Zelensky stated.
The President added that Putin's attempts to escalate the war are meant to force the U.S. President to agree to Russia's terms. Ukraine, for its part, is aware of all existing threats.
Let us remind you that Zelensky recently reported that the Ukrainian leadership is already working on strengthening the air defense system in light of Russia's strike with a new ballistic missile.
