President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to a phone call from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
The statement was published on the Telegram channel of the head of state.
“Chancellor Scholz told me that he plans to call Putin. Olaf's call, in my opinion, is a Pandora's box. Now there may be other conversations, other calls. Just a lot of words,” Zelensky believes.
According to him, this is exactly what Putin wants, as the dictator aims to weaken Russia's isolation and “conduct regular negotiations that will lead nowhere.”
Zelensky asserts that the leadership of Ukraine understands all these challenges and knows how to act.
“And we want to warn: there will be no 'Minsk-3' – we need a real peace,” he concluded.
Let us remind you that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz today, November 15, spoke on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the first time in almost two years. According to German media, the conversation lasted about an hour. Preliminary information indicates that the politicians discussed Russia's war against Ukraine.
Media also report that Zelensky tried to persuade Scholz to abandon the idea of calling Putin.
