Ukraine has signed 27 security guarantee agreements with various countries, most of which are members of the Alliance, and they support Ukraine's accession to the bloc, the head of state reminded. Membership in NATO is not a "gift," as Ukraine has been defending not only its independence from Russia for nearly three years but also the "collective way of life in Europe," he believes.
Zelensky emphasized that territories and independence cannot be bargaining chips or subjects of political manipulation among allied countries.
"We do not bargain with sovereignty, security, or Ukraine's future. We will not relinquish Ukraine's rights to its entire territory. And we will certainly not allow our country to be used in someone else's electoral battles in Europe; winning at Ukraine's expense is not possible. Together with Ukraine, victory is achievable, but only that way," the president stated.
At the same time, Zelensky suggested that for a complete victory, Ukraine might need time until a regime change occurs in Russia.
"We may have to outlast someone in Moscow to restore the full integrity of our state," he said.
