Zelensky noted the halt of shadow financial schemes in Ukraine and announced "tough" sanctions from the National Security and Defense Council.

In an evening video address on February 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that shadow financial schemes in the country have finally been halted. The video was shared on the official Facebook page of the Office of the President.
Зеленский отметил прекращение теневых финансовых схем в Украине и объявил о "жестких" санкциях СНБО.

Zelensky shared that he held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, where important reports on the "financial integrity in the country" were presented.

"Recently, there have been changes in the leadership of the tax service and financial monitoring, and the first results are already evident. These results pertain to shadow financial schemes that have finally been halted," the president noted.

According to Zelensky, this concerns "both oligarchs and officials, as well as deputies," and "those who have used or are using various funds to effectively conceal assets."

"Billions of hryvnias," the president specified. "Relevant materials are with law enforcement agencies. Already. Investigations must be objective—regardless of who violates the law," the head of state emphasized.

Zelensky added that a decision on sanctions was made during the NSDC meeting.

"The lists will be available soon. There will be several stringent packages," the president concluded.
