The video recording from January 27 was published on YouTube by the Office of the President of Ukraine.
"I don't want to talk about how the full-scale war started right now. We can discuss where we were and what we had. […] I believe that we don't even know all the details; we can only speculate. I am still very curious about what [illegitimate Russian President Vladimir] Putin and [then U.S. President Joe] Biden agreed upon in Switzerland. I wish I knew, to be honest. Well, history will surely tell us," noted Zelensky.
At the same time, he emphasized that the current White House leader, Donald Trump, "has a chance" to maintain sanctions against the Russian Federation, as much has been "done by the whole world," and significant efforts have been made to impact Russia's war economy.
"We all worked on this. I would very much like him to strengthen these sanctions. It seems to me that he will do just that," Zelensky said. "I would like us all to work as allies. And it's not just about sanctions – it also pertains to assistance. I believe that rather than stopping aid to Ukraine, he can actually increase it. It can take various forms; it's not just about weapons – weapons, technology, sanctions, political influence."
