Fico stated that Zelensky "has caused the problems we are facing," and that he does not like him because the Ukrainian leader "is harming Slovakia."
According to him, the Ukrainian president has nothing left "except to talk about some gas from Azerbaijan," while he himself "is just blowing bubbles because he thinks that this bubble will free him from making tough decisions."
He reiterated that Bratislava considers "the most realistic" option to be the resumption of Russian gas transit – for example, if it buys gas at the Russian-Ukrainian border, "and this gas would be transported as Slovak through the territory of Ukraine."
As media reports note, the Slovak leader also threatened again to block the decision on providing aid to Ukraine. On January 30, he intends to hold negotiations about gas with the European Commission.
