The occupying Russian army launched a missile strike on Odessa on the evening of Friday, January 31. Civilians were affected.
This information was shared by the city mayor, Gennady Trukhanov, via Telegram.
The historical center of the city was under fire. According to the latest reports, two people were injured as a result of the attack and are receiving all necessary medical assistance.
Trukhanov noted that local authorities and law enforcement officials have recorded numerous damages and destruction within the UNESCO protection zone. Specifically, a building under enhanced protection was damaged.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has already responded to the strike. In his Telegram, he stated that the Russians attacked the city, most likely with ballistic missiles.
“Strikes directly on the city, on ordinary civilian infrastructure. Again and again: air defense is the top priority, we are working with all partners to provide more protection for our state,” the president emphasized.
It is worth mentioning that this morning the occupiers shell three communities in the Sumy region, resulting in injuries.
Additionally, it was reported that Russia attacked Chornomorsk in the Odessa region with drones. There, a hospital, a private residential building, and an administrative office were damaged, with four people injured.
