The military cabinet of Israel has approved a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
This was reported by CNN.
In his televised address, Netanyahu stated that the duration of the ceasefire would depend on Hezbollah's actions.
The Israeli Prime Minister also promised that Tel Aviv would "respond decisively to any violation" of the truce.
According to BBC, the agreement stipulates a 60-day ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanese territory. The Hezbollah fighters, in turn, will withdraw their units to the north of the Litani River in Lebanon.
Additionally, the plan includes the "safe return" of about 60,000 residents from northern Israel who were displaced due to rocket attacks.
It is worth noting that in recent months, the Israeli army and intelligence services have managed to eliminate all high-ranking Hezbollah commanders, including the longtime leader of the group Hassan Nasrallah. Furthermore, the IDF killed the alleged new leader of "Hezbollah," Hashem Safieddine.
It was also reported that the Israeli army conducted strikes on Hezbollah command centers in Beirut.
