According to Yatsenyuk, he understands the doubts of the new American president Donald Trump regarding the necessity of supporting Ukraine both militarily and financially. However, he emphasized that "military investments in Ukraine are the best military investments in the security of the United States." This, in the opinion of the head of the KFB, is "obvious to everyone."
"Therefore, the first step, in my opinion, should be the adoption of legislation with a new package of security support for Ukraine," he noted.
Yatsenyuk also mentioned that Ukraine has sufficient tools to prevent Russia from circumventing the sanctions imposed on it, thus halting the financing of the war by Russia. However, the U.S. administration must also implement secondary sanctions, including against Russia's allies such as North Korea, Iran, and China.
"Everything depends on the arsenal of tools we possess and our political will. It hinges on whether we are ready to use every tool to achieve our goals, to attain a fair and just peace for Ukraine, and to restore the global leadership of the United States. This is to demonstrate to every autocrat and dictator that their time has passed," Yatsenyuk stated.
