The Times reported on November 17 that the United Kingdom halted the supply of Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine following the rise to power of Keir Starmer's government in July, likely awaiting the lifting of all restrictions on Ukrainian defense forces' strikes deep into Russia.
It is noted that both the UK and France have not lifted the ban on Ukraine's use of Storm Shadow and SCALP missiles, which are of British and French origin, against Russian territory, anticipating support for such a decision from the USA.
At the same time, the White House expressed concerns about the potential escalation threat from Russia due to such permission. However, on November 17, media reported that Biden allowed Ukraine to strike the Kursk region with American long-range ATACMS missiles, where Russia has deployed North Korean soldiers that they intend to use in the war against the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It is possible that the President may permit Ukraine to use ATACMS in other Russian regions as well.
Former Defense Secretary Grant Shapps urged the British government to "act unilaterally" without the stance of the USA.
