In Ukraine, there are concerns that Trump and Putin aim to push for Zelensky's resignation, according to Politico.

Ukrainian officials are concerned that the growing closeness between Washington and Moscow could exclude them from discussions about the future of their country. This was reported by Politico on February 3rd.
В Украине растут опасения, что Трамп и Путин стремятся к отставке Зеленского, сообщает Politico.

In Ukraine, there is growing concern over the simultaneous calls from both Washington and Moscow for elections to be held in Ukraine, the publication reports.

Over the weekend, U.S. President Donald Trump's special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Kurt Volker, stated that in most democracies, elections are held even during wartime, and he believes this is beneficial for democracy. At the same time, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists in Moscow that the term of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is supposedly over.

A former Ukrainian minister, who spoke to Politico on the condition of anonymity, expressed that the alignment of positions between Washington and Moscow regarding elections "raises concerns." According to the politician, he views this as the first indication that Trump and Putin want Zelensky to resign.

The publication emphasized that the Kremlin has not provided clarity on whether peace negotiations are contingent upon the holding of elections in Ukraine, but stated that until political legitimacy is established, a final deal cannot be agreed upon. Volker also did not clarify the sequence of elections and the cessation of hostilities.
