The number of casualties in Sumy has risen again following a Russian drone strike on a multi-storey residential building.
This was reported by Interior Minister Igor Klymenko via Telegram.
He stated that all emergency rescue and search operations at the attack site have been completed.
“The death toll has increased to 9 people. Rescuers spent 19 hours clearing the rubble, recovering bodies from beneath the debris. Thirteen individuals were injured, including an 8-year-old girl. Two apartment buildings and over 20 vehicles were damaged,” the minister said.
Klymenko added that the mobile invincibility point set up by rescuers continues to operate around the clock.
It is worth recalling that the strike on Sumy occurred on the night of January 30. Initially, one fatality and one injury were reported, but throughout the day, the number of victims increased.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the Russian strike on Sumy, calling for the world to intensify pressure on Putin.
