On Saturday, February 1, an unknown man shot a military personnel officer from the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCRSS) at a gas station while accompanying conscripted soldiers.
This was reported by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
On February 1, at a gas station in the city of Pyriatyn, during the escort of conscripted soldiers to the 199th training center, an unknown man attacked a TCRSS employee.
“An unidentified man wearing a gray balaclava and pixelated pants approached a soldier from the Poltava Regional TCRSS, threatening him with a hunting rifle and demanding that he hand over his weapon. After being refused, the assailant shot the soldier,” the message states.
As a result of the severe injury, the soldier died on the spot. The assailant, having stolen the soldier's automatic rifle, fled the scene with one of the conscripted soldiers.
Currently, law enforcement agencies are working at the scene, and operational search activities are ongoing. A special operation named “Siren” has been launched in the Poltava region to capture the assailant.
Later, the Poltava Regional TCRSS reported on Facebook that the attacker had been apprehended.
“Thanks to the prompt actions of law enforcement, both the assailant and the conscripted soldier have been detained, and the weapon has been recovered. Criminal proceedings have been initiated by the authorities, and investigative actions are continuing,” the message reads.
Recall that at the beginning of January, a conflict occurred at the railway station in Dnipro during a document check by TCRSS representatives. A man refused to provide his military registration documents and subsequently stabbed a police officer.
At the end of December 2024, a scuffle involving TCRSS staff took place in the Kyiv region. The incident occurred at a checkpoint during a military document verification.
