In Kyiv, the monument dedicated to Russian scientist Ivan Pavlov has been dismantled.

In the Pechersk district of Kyiv, near the Alexander Hospital, a monument honoring the Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov, renowned for his discoveries in the field of reflexes, has been dismantled. This was reported by the Kyiv City Department of Territorial Control on January 27.
В Киеве снесли памятник российскому ученому Ивану Павлову.

As stated by the press service, the dismantling was carried out by the municipal enterprise "Kyivblagoustriy".

"Despite his contributions to science, his figure is tied to an imperial narrative. Historically, Pavlov's school conducted cruel experiments not only on animals but also on humans. In particular, homeless children aged between six and fifteen were used for these experiments," the statement noted.

The dismantling took place in accordance with the decision of the Kyiv City Council No. 6880/6921 dated July 13, 2023, "On the Approval of the List of Objects to be Removed from the Public Space of the City of Kyiv".

Currently, the dismantled monument is stored at a designated site for abandoned property. It will later be transferred to the State Aviation Museum of Ukraine named after A.K. Antonov, where other dismantled objects are already kept.
