The head of the commission, Georgy Kalandarishvili, signed the final decision, which states that the ruling party "Georgian Dream" received 53.93% (89 mandates), the coalition "For Change" garnered 11.03% (19 mandates), the bloc "United National Movement" obtained 10.17% (16 mandates), the coalition "Strong Georgia" achieved 8.81% (14 mandates), and the party "For Georgia" led by former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia received 7.78% (12 mandates).
During the discussion, a member of the commission from the UNM, David Kirtadze, splashed black paint on the head of the CEC, calling him a "black stain" on the body of the country. The meeting was temporarily suspended but later resumed. Kirtadze was escorted out of the room by court enforcement officers.
"You have taken away the future of Georgia, our future, and you are pushing our country towards Russia... You are a disgrace, a disgrace to our country and its black stain," the opposition member said to the head of the CEC.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia announced that it has initiated an investigation based on the appeal from the CEC of Georgia under Article 118 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the intentional infliction of minor harm to health.
