A successful special operation was conducted in Dnipro to free a 21-year-old hostage and apprehend the kidnappers. On January 30, an alarming report about the abduction of a young man was received by the duty unit. The victim, a local resident of Dnipro, was forcibly placed into a vehicle by unknown individuals right outside his home. This was reported by "Vydomo".
According to witnesses, a dark-colored luxury SUV, a Porsche Cayenne, pulled up to the house, from which three muscular men emerged. They dragged the young man into the car's interior and fled the scene. The victim did not have time to inform anyone about the kidnappers.
Already the next day, January 31, a patrol crew spotted the suspicious Porsche Cayenne on one of the city's outskirts. The vehicle was parked near an abandoned warehouse, which led to the assumption of a possible location for the hostage. As the police approached the car, they noticed three men matching the description of the kidnappers, who were behaving suspiciously.
A special operation was carried out to detain them. The criminals resisted; however, they were quickly neutralized and apprehended. During a search of the vehicle, the hostage was found.
One of the detainees had a traumatic pistol seized, which was apparently used to intimidate the victim. A small amount of money was also discovered, presumably extorted from the victim or obtained through other criminal activities.
Currently, an investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the case, including the motives behind the crime and any potential connections of the kidnappers to other similar incidents. The offenders turned out to be three men aged 24, 28, and 30, all residents of Dnipro. They were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. On January 31, they were informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal deprivation of liberty or kidnapping), which provides for a penalty of up to five years in prison.
The investigation continues to gather evidence, witness interrogations are being conducted, and examinations of seized evidence are being appointed.
