The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov met in Seoul with the President of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol.
This was reported by The Korea Herald.
During the talks, Yoon expressed hope that South Korea and Ukraine could find a "practical way to counter the threat" posed by the cooperation between North Korea and Russia.
Umerov, for his part, informed about the situation on the front line in eastern Ukraine and in the Kursk region, where North Korean units have already been spotted. In this regard, Seoul and Kyiv agreed to continue exchanging information regarding the deployment of North Korean troops in Russia and the exchange of weapons between the two countries.
After his conversation with Yoon Suk Yeol, the head of Ukraine's defense ministry also met with his national security advisor, Shin Won-sik, and South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-gun.
It is noted that the South Korean presidential administration did not clarify whether the possibility of providing military assistance to Ukraine was discussed during Umerov's visit.
Recall that at the end of October, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol stated that the country could consider supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine in response to the dispatch of North Korean soldiers to Russia.
Media reports also indicated that South Korea might send a group of military observers to Ukraine.
