Ukraine has received $4.8 billion from the World Bank as part of the PEACE project. This funding will be allocated for reforms, the social sector, healthcare, and reconstruction efforts.
This was reported on Wednesday by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal via Telegram.
“Ukraine has received $4.8 billion from the World Bank under the PEACE project. This is the largest investment project in the bank's history, initiated to support our country in implementing reforms in the social and educational sectors, healthcare, agriculture, and reconstruction projects,” he stated.
According to him, nearly $50 billion has been mobilized through World Bank mechanisms during the full-scale war.
Shmyhal expressed gratitude to the World Bank for “its ongoing engagement and active support of initiatives that strengthen Ukraine.”
As a reminder, at the beginning of November, it was reported that Ukraine will receive a grant of $1.37 billion under the World Bank project. Additionally, Ukraine has signed new agreements with the World Bank worth nearly $600 million.
