American funds will be allocated to priority humanitarian and social programs, the head of the government reported.
Funding will be channeled through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in coordination with the State Department and the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
"We are grateful to our American partners for this support," wrote Shmyhal.
With the mentioned grant, direct budget support from Washington to Kyiv has reached $28.2 billion since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion, noted Ukraine's Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.
"This is the largest financial assistance to Ukraine among all countries in the world. A strong partnership with the U.S. helps the Ukrainian government maintain financial stability and support citizens by providing essential public services such as education and emergency services," the Finance Ministry's website quotes the minister.
