Trump desires an end to the war but will not halt arms supplies to Ukraine, according to Politico.

The elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, seeks a swift end to the full-scale war waged by the aggressor nation, Russia, against Ukraine, but he does not plan to withdraw military aid to Ukraine. This was reported by Politico on November 15, citing a source.
Трамп стремится к завершению войны, однако не планирует прекращать поставки оружия Украине, сообщает Politico.

According to him, Kyiv believes that Trump could very well be a better option than his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris. If she were to follow the approach of the current U.S. President Joe Biden, it would mean a "slow death for Ukraine," the source added.

At the same time, Trump is not planning to simply give up. He does not intend to deprive Ukraine of weapons and supplies, as he understands that the collapse of Ukraine would mean that the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin would "be in charge at the negotiation table," noted the Politico source.

Furthermore, Trump has a personal interest in this matter, he pointed out. In particular, Trump takes pride in being a dealmaker and does not want to be seen as "striking a terrible agreement."

During his phone calls with Zelensky and their meeting in New York, the American politician "instilled some confidence" in the Ukrainian president that he simply would not abandon the country, the Politico source concluded.
