Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga confirmed that Ukraine and NATO will hold an emergency meeting in response to Russia's use of a new ballistic missile.
The statement from the head of the foreign affairs agency is quoted by Suspilne.
He emphasized that the strike by Russia's new missile on Ukraine poses a threat to transatlantic security.
“We have initiated a meeting in the Ukraine-NATO format. We already have a date – Tuesday, November 26. By that time, we will strive to gather as much evidence as possible, conduct research to present our allies with a clearer understanding of both the consequences and the nature of the weapon used in the strike,” he stated.
Sibiga mentioned that during this meeting, allies will discuss enhancing Ukraine's air defense system.
“We will address the issue of limiting Russian capabilities to produce such types of weapons and reducing the capabilities of the Russian defense industry, which, despite all sanctions, continues to grow. This is a fact,” the minister declared.
It is worth noting that on the night of November 21, Russian forces attacked Dnipro with a new type of missile. Initially, media speculated that the strike could have been from an intercontinental ballistic missile “Rubezh.”
And yesterday evening, the Russian dictator Putin announced that the Russian army struck Dnipro with the latest medium-range missile “Oreshnik”. The new missile strike was commented on by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The HUR has already revealed how many ballistic missiles of this type Russia may possess.
