According to him, first and foremost, "it would be good if the war in Ukraine came to an end."
However, even in that case, the allies "will still have to ensure a safe future for Ukraine," added the head of the German government.
Then, as Scholz noted, "the discussion will focus on security guarantees," as well as on how Ukraine "can maintain a strong army that we will equip together."
The politician emphasized that this issue will be discussed by the allies "in the near future," but "at present, such speculation is prohibited."
"After all, nothing is decided over the heads of the Ukrainian people. And we are still far from peace," Scholz concluded.
