In an interview, Scholz revealed that on November 10, he had a "possibly unexpected, but very detailed and good" conversation with Trump. According to the Chancellor, they discussed the situation regarding the war in Ukraine "for some time."
Scholz noted that he got the impression that Trump "holds a more nuanced position than is commonly believed." However, the head of the German government did not clarify what he meant.
When asked whether Trump would attempt to negotiate a peace agreement with Russia "over the heads of the Ukrainians," Scholz responded that the elected U.S. president "gave no indications" that he would do so.
Germany, for its part, will not agree to a "peace dictated," Scholz assured.
