"It is clear that Russia does not care about the lives of Ukrainians, but it is also evident that Russia does not care about the lives of Russians," said Thomas-Greenfield.
She noted that already "hundreds of thousands of Russians have died in the war" against Ukraine, which has "forced the Kremlin to turn to North Korea."
The UN representative reminded that North Korea's decision to provide Russia with 10,000 troops is a "flagrant violation" of UN Security Council resolutions.
The ambassador expressed the support of the United States for Ukraine, emphasizing that such support "cannot and should not be a partisan issue" in Congress and beyond. According to Thomas-Greenfield, when the war ends, Ukraine will "continue its path" towards joining NATO.
