On November 17, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, targeting 210 aerial objectives.
This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
During the night of November 17, Russian troops executed a large-scale combined strike on Ukraine's energy sector facilities. They deployed a total of 120 missiles and 90 drones, including:
- 1 hypersonic ship missile 3M22 "Zircon";
- 8 air-launched ballistic missiles X-47M2 "Dagger";
- 101 cruise missiles X-101, "Caliber";
- 1 ballistic missile "Iskander-M";
- 4 cruise/radar-homing missiles X-22/X-31P;
- 5 guided air-to-surface missiles X-59/X-69;
- 90 strike UAVs.
“For the aerial assault, the enemy deployed 7 strategic bombers Tu-160 and 16 Tu-95MS, 2 long-range bombers Tu-22M3, 5 bomber fighters Su-34, 4 fighters Su-27, and 10 MiG-3 missile fighters,” they added in their report.
Air defense forces managed to shoot down 102 missiles and 42 drones:
- 1 hypersonic ship missile 3M22 "Zircon";
- 7 air-launched ballistic missiles X-47M2 "Dagger";
- 85 cruise missiles X-101, "Caliber";
- 4 cruise/radar-homing missiles X-22/X-31P;
- 5 guided air-to-surface missiles X-59/69;
- 42 strike UAVs.
41 enemy drones were lost to radar in various regions of Ukraine, and two UAVs flew towards Russia and temporarily occupied territories.
The air defense system operated in nearly all regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Volyn, and Lviv regions.
