"I held a meeting regarding energy and its protection. Reports were presented by the Ministry of Energy, Naftogaz, and all key industry participants. We discussed the recovery efforts following the Russian shelling on November 17 and the subsequent protection of all critical facilities. This includes gas infrastructure and generation: nuclear, hydro, thermal, etc. We also talked about our partnership with European countries to enhance electricity import opportunities, particularly for businesses," said Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine noted that representatives from the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the protection of critical infrastructure from aerial threats.
"We are adopting the most effective experiences of layered air defense systems and applying them to other regions," emphasized Zelensky.
According to him, the meeting also covered contracting and advance payments for Ukrainian manufacturers of weapons, shells, missiles, and drones, as well as the results for 2024 and planning for 2025. Reports on this matter were provided by representatives of the Ministry of Defense.
Zelensky also mentioned the meeting in his address summarizing the day, the transcript of which was published by the press service of the head of state.
"Various issues [were discussed], primarily focusing on the protection of our infrastructure and energy sector. There were relevant reports, and an analysis of the experience in repelling Russian strikes. The best results from specific units should be shared across all facilities and among all those engaged in protective work," he believes.
