"I spoke with Scholz and expressed my gratitude for Germany's substantial bilateral defense assistance and its leadership in bringing together partners to support Ukraine. Chancellor Scholz confirmed that the sixth planned IRIS-T air defense system will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of this year. We also discussed air defense supplies for next year and the potential for additional air defense support from Germany," Zelenskyy wrote.
According to him, steps were also "coordinated to ensure the best possible defense and political support for Ukraine."
"We agreed on the importance of maintaining the 'Ramstein' format and holding the next meeting of the coordination group. I also emphasized that Ukraine's vision for a just and lasting peace should be presented at the G20 summit in Brazil, and I thanked Germany for its commitment to supporting us in these efforts," noted the President of Ukraine.

In September, Reuters reported that Germany will additionally transfer six IRIS-T systems to Ukraine. A source told reporters that Germany is sticking to its plan to supply 12 IRIS-T SLM air defense systems to Ukraine. Four IRIS-T units have already been delivered. Two more systems are expected by the end of the year, while the remaining six will be delivered later.
