"Peter Alekseevich appeared at the premiere of the film 'Bucha' wearing a new Italian Brunello Cucinelli jacket valued at over $6,000. He took the floor. The cream-white silk, calfskin suede, and stand-up collar added weight to every word from the 'hetman's' lips: 'Bucha is a place of pain. The weeks of occupation and the Russian advance in the Kyiv region resonate with me,' – the face of the gray-haired man expressed immense emotion, while his hand adjusted the $6,000 jacket (that’s over 240,000 UAH!). It reminded me of Poroshenko’s words about how, while the defenders of the Kyiv region 'had fled', he took up arms and personally liberated the region from the occupiers. Perhaps he even stained his jacket," – wrote Gladkiy.
The expert emphasized that the politician's appearance in such excessively expensive luxury attire at this event was extremely inappropriate.
"To think during a war to don heavy luxury in a style reminiscent of a 'Christmas oligarch' at the premiere of a tragic film about tortured compatriots could only come from an absolutely cynical character whose thirst for power has eroded all humanity from within. I wouldn’t be surprised if he grabbed some popcorn," – noted the political scientist.
He pointed out that just a few hours before the film's premiere, Poroshenko recorded a video message in the same jacket stating that his faction would not vote for the state budget allegedly due to a lack of funds.
"The richest people's deputy, the leader of the richest deputy faction in a $6,000 jacket, claimed that he and the deputies found the state budget insufficient in funds. Therefore, they cannot vote for the budget. Earlier, Poroshenko had also mentioned 'not enough money' to foreign diplomats at a meeting regarding assistance to Ukraine. However, he had arrived then in a €2,500 jacket, from which he thoughtfully removed the tag," – wrote the expert.
