On January 25 at 5:00 PM, an interview featuring Alena Batsman, the editor-in-chief of the "GORDON" publication, was released on the YouTube channels "Dmitry Gordon" and "Alena Batsman." The interview includes insights from Andrey Deshchytsia, the former acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland.

In an interview, Batsman and Deshchitsa discussed:

  • the plan of U.S. President Donald Trump to achieve peace in the war between Russia and Ukraine;
  • potential ways for Trump to "put pressure" on Putin;
  • Trump's facial expression after his meeting with Putin;
  • China's actions to bring an end to the war;
  • the differences in the stance of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov between 2014 and 2025;
  • Lavrov's understanding of the current situation in Russia;
  • what needs to happen for Putin to be removed from power;
  • the possible date for the end of the active phase of the war in Ukraine;
  • a military alliance between Ukraine, Poland, and the United Kingdom as an alternative to U.S. assistance;
  • Deshchitsa's statement that "Putin is a...".

"Trump has two options – to help Putin seize Ukraine or to assist Ukraine," Deshchitsa believes.

Deshchitsa was born in 1965 in the village of Spasiv, Lviv region. He graduated from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and the University of Alberta in Canada. He holds a Master's degree in History and is a Candidate of Political Sciences. In 1996, he began working in Ukraine's diplomatic structures. He served as Ukraine's ambassador to Finland (and concurrently to Iceland) and to Poland. In the first half of 2014, he held the position of acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In 2015, Deshchitsa became embroiled in a scandal. After pro-Russian terrorists shot down a military transport aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Il-76, at the airport in Luhansk on June 14, resulting in the deaths of 49 people, Deshchitsa quoted a chant from Kharkiv ultras at a spontaneous rally in Kyiv, calling Putin a "..." Soon after, he was dismissed from his position as acting Minister.
