The Pentagon is "not surprised" by this, as Russia has been "signaling" it for the past several weeks.
"This is the same irresponsible rhetoric we have seen before, and which we have frankly observed over the last two years," Singh stated, emphasizing that Washington is not at war with Moscow, and that it is Russia that continues to escalate.
However, at this moment, the U.S. does not see any preparations by the Kremlin for the use of strategic weapons on Ukrainian territory.
"There are no signs that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons on the territory of Ukraine. And we do not see any changes that need to be made to our own nuclear posture," Singh declared.
