Суд завершил рассмотрение дела по обвинению члена парламента в предоставлении неправомерной выгоды чиновнику.

The High Anti-Corruption Court has found MP Andrey Odarchenko guilty and sentenced him to 8 years in prison.

This decision was announced on November 14 by VAKS judge Viktor Nogachevsky, according to "Slovo i Delo".

"To find Andrey Mykolayovych Odarchenko guilty of committing a crime as defined in part 4 of article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and to impose a sentence of 8 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all his property owned by him in accordance with the law, and to prohibit him from holding certain positions for a period of 3 years," he stated.

The court confiscated the following assets: a land plot of 0.1028 hectares; a land plot of 0.1 hectares; a non-residential building of 89.4 square meters; a land plot of 0.1 hectares; an apartment of 61.1 square meters in Kharkiv; an apartment of 51 square meters in Kharkiv; a land plot of 0.0854 hectares; a residential house of 100.3 square meters in Mala Danilivka near Kharkiv; a residential house of 159.6 square meters in Kharkiv; and a non-residential building of 625 square meters.

As a reminder, the SAP prosecutor stated that, according to operational information, MP Andrey Odarchenko has left the country. Therefore, he has been declared wanted nationally and internationally. It later became known that the MP illegally crossed the border in the area of the settlement of Krasnoilsk in Chernivtsi Oblast and sought asylum in Romania.

It is known that the SAP accuses MP Odarchenko of attempting to bribe the former head of the State Agency for Restoration, Mustafa Nayyem. According to the prosecution's version, the MP offered Nayyem an improper benefit for securing a decision by the Interagency Working Group to allocate funds from the liquidation fund of the consequences of armed aggression for the repair of university buildings, where the elected official continues to hold the position of rector (contract action). The proposed amount of the improper benefit is to be 8% of the funding volume.
