Detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, in collaboration with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, have announced suspicions against the husband of a Ukrainian Member of Parliament.
This was reported by the SAP press service.
According to "Slovo i Delo," the individual in question is Yuriy Kormyshkin, the husband of MP Irina Kormyshkina.
He has been suspected of legalizing property acquired through criminal means and declaring false information.
According to the investigation, between 2021 and 2022, Kormyshkina acquired funds totaling over 20 million UAH, which exceed her official income and savings during that period. Meanwhile, her husband conducted a series of transactions and financial operations to conceal the source of such property.
Additionally, the Kormyshkins did not reflect in their 2023 declarations any information about the acquired housing.
“The actions of the individual are classified under Part 2 of Article 209 and Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which prescribes a punishment of up to eight years of imprisonment, with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in specific activities for up to three years, along with the confiscation of property,” stated the SAP.
It is worth noting that in October, Kormyshkina received a suspicion of illegal enrichment.
Earlier this year, the NABU and SAP announced that the MP is suspected of false declaration—she failed to include in her 2023 declaration the residential house where she lives and land plots near Odesa worth over 17 million UAH.
