On Thursday, January 30, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the Ambassador of Slovakia, Pavel Vizdal, for a conversation.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry.

It was noted that during the conversation, the Ukrainian side expressed "strong disapproval" of the statements made by the official Bratislava regarding an alleged interference by Kyiv in Slovakia's internal affairs.
"Deputy Minister Oleksandr Myshchenko expressed deep disappointment that Prime Minister Fico acts as a mouthpiece for the Kremlin and, disregarding Slovakia's membership in the European Union, engages in illogical actions," the statement read.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that such actions from representatives of the Slovak government are unacceptable, especially in the context of Russia's unprecedented aggression against Ukraine. They also urged Bratislava to return to "constructive dialogue and the development of good neighborly relations" between the countries.
"The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Ukrainian people, who are currently sacrificing their lives for their freedom and the safety of all of Europe, remain grateful to the people of Slovakia for all the support and assistance received since the onset of the full-scale Russian aggression," the Ministry stated.
It should be noted that the day before, Robert Fico criticized Ukraine again for halting the transit of Russian gas and called President Volodymyr Zelensky "an enemy of Slovakia."
He also stated that Zelensky "travels across Europe, begging and blackmailing others," and threatened to block any decisions related to Ukraine in the European Union.
Zelensky responded by saying that the Slovak Prime Minister chooses Moscow over other partners who could supply gas to his country. Following this, the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs protested to the Ukrainian ambassador and accused Kyiv of interfering in the country's internal affairs.
