Romanian politician Călin Georgescu describes himself as "independent," yet his statements regarding Ukraine align completely with the narratives of Russian propaganda.
This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The Ministry considers Georgescu's statements to be a severe disrespect towards Ukraine and its people.
“We find revisionist statements or actions that encroach upon the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, contradicting international norms, the UN Charter, as well as fundamental democratic values, to be categorically unacceptable and condemn them. In light of such statements, Călin Georgescu's attempts to position himself as an ‘independent politician’ appear absurd: his voiced theses are entirely identical to those of Russian propaganda, indicating complete dependence on the masters in Moscow,” the statement reads.
Ukraine believes that it is in the interest of Romania and its people to achieve a comprehensive, just, and sustainable peace in Ukraine, the ministry added.
Recall that the far-right presidential candidate Călin Georgescu called Ukraine a “made-up state” and also stated that the division of the country is “inevitable.”
Previously, he threatened to stop aid to Ukraine if he were elected president.
