The head of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, Igor Karpenko, announced that Alexander Lukashenko is winning the “elections” for president of the country. Allegedly, over 5 million voters, or 86.82%, cast their votes for him.
He is quoted by Belta.

“Alexander Lukashenko received 5,136,293 votes, amounting to 86.82% of the electorate... Thus, the highest number of votes was cast for Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko,” said the head of the CEC.
At a press conference, Karpenko stated that 85.69% of voters participated in the “elections.” Therefore, they are considered valid.
Moreover, the CEC claims that it did not receive any complaints about violations of electoral legislation from citizens and observers, as stated by the chairman.
The publication “Zerkalo” notes that Lukashenko has broken his own record of “popular support.”
In the second round of the 1994 elections, he garnered 80.34% of the votes, in the 2001 elections – 75.65%, in the 2006 elections – 82.97%, in the 2010 elections – 79.65%, in the 2015 elections – 83.47%, and in the 2020 elections – 80.1%.
Some world leaders have already congratulated Lukashenko on his “convincing victory.” Among them are Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
Recall that last week the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling on the EU and the international community not to recognize the results of the presidential “elections” in Belarus. Ukraine will not recognize the voting results.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that he “doesn’t care” whether the West recognizes the results of his elections.
