Lithuania will fund the production of long-range drones for Ukraine, according to Umerov.

Lithuania will fund the production of long-range drones for Ukraine, specifically the "Palianytsia" model. This announcement was made by Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov following a meeting with his Lithuanian counterpart, Laurynas Kasčiūnas, on November 23, as reported by the Ministry of Defense on Telegram.
Литва поддержит финансирование производства дальнобойных дронов для Украины, заявил Умеров.

The corresponding memorandum was signed by the ministers in Vilnius.

"The Memorandum of Understanding on creating a support mechanism for Ukraine's security and defense forces through contributions to the Ukrainian defense industry opens new opportunities for Lithuanian investments in our defense sector and enhances the strategic partnership between our countries," said Umierov.

According to him, this is a long-term agreement, under which the first tranche of €10 million has already been agreed upon. Lithuania is allocating these funds for the production of Ukrainian long-range weapons, particularly the "Palyanytsia" project.

The Lithuanian side is already working on finalizing the bureaucratic procedures, and the first tranche in support of Ukrainian DeepStrike will be transferred shortly, the minister noted.

"In addition to signing the memorandum, we discussed our key priorities for 2025: the training and equipping of Ukrainian brigades, provision of ammunition, air defense systems, and the development of cooperation in the defense industry," Umierov stated. He expressed gratitude to Lithuania for its support and trust in Ukrainian technologies.
