China has, for the first time, supplied the Russian Federation with weapons for use in combat operations against Ukraine.
This information comes from the German publication FAZ, citing sources within the European Union leadership.
According to journalists, the day before, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, informed representatives of the member states about "the relevant intelligence conclusions."
Details of the deal between Beijing and Moscow are not yet disclosed, but an unnamed diplomat indicated that the evidence was "convincing" and demonstrated "the provision of lethal support."
"Now we should consider the full range of tools. You (China – ed.) have always claimed that you want to be neutral. You are not neutral," said the official.
It is noted that the European Union is contemplating the introduction of sanctions against the PRC in light of the weapon supply to the Kremlin. Meanwhile, another source reported that Europe's subsequent actions depend on China's response to these conclusions.
Recall that in September, media outlets reported that Russia launched a secret program in China for the development and production of long-range strike drones for use in the war against Ukraine.
Previously, the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that they do not see threats in the deepening military cooperation between Russia and North Korea.
