According to him, the missile threat from the aggressor country, Russia, cannot be overlooked, and when the air raid signal sounds, one must respond and seek shelter.
"However, when there is no air raid alert, the state, businesses, and embassies – everyone should operate as usual. They need to interpret information, particularly from intelligence sources, as information rather than a permission to take a day off. This applies to everyone – from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and other institutions and branches of power to local management in regions and communities. When the siren sounds – we go to shelter. And when there is no siren – we work and serve," emphasized Zelensky.
In response to the president's video address, MP from the "Voice" party, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, wrote on Telegram that the decision to close the Verkhovna Rada was made by representatives of the pro-presidential majority, namely the "Servant of the People" party.
"Someone remind the president which party constitutes the mono-majority in the Rada and, accordingly, determines the work schedule. Moreover, in the chat of the faction leaders, the message about the cancellation of the session arrived as a fact. That is, it was not discussed with other factions or groups. The decision was made solely by his [presidential] party… So, can you figure this out among yourselves? Because it seems like bees against honey," he wrote.
