Today marks the tenth anniversary of the start of the Revolution of Dignity. On the Day of Dignity and Freedom, prosecutors announced the results of the investigation into the crimes committed on the Maidan in Kyiv in 2013-2014.
The information was released by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
It is reported that over the past ten years, 540 individuals have been notified of suspicion, including:
- 46 high-ranking officials and individuals in leadership positions;
- 299 law enforcement officers;
- 25 prosecutors;
- 33 judges.
A total of 318 indictments have been sent to court concerning 495 individuals.
Throughout 2024, it is reported that 64 individuals have been brought to criminal responsibility, including:
- 8 high-ranking officials and leaders of law enforcement agencies;
- 32 law enforcement officers, including 6 investigators;
- 21 employees of the FSB of the Russian Federation.
Since 2014, with the involvement of the Office of the Prosecutor General and regional prosecutors, courts have issued convictions against 76 individuals, of which 26 have been sentenced to actual imprisonment. 68 sentences have entered into legal force.
As a reminder, in October it was reported that three more Berkut officers will stand trial in connection with the Maidan cases. Previously, the court acquitted a judge who sent Maidan activists to pre-trial detention.
