NATO's Secretary General discussed the end of the war in Ukraine with Erdogan.

On November 25, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara. They discussed, among other topics, the Russia-Ukraine war and potential avenues for its resolution. This information was shared by Turkey's communications office on social media platform X.

During the meeting, Erdoğan was accompanied by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, Head of the Communications Directorate Fahrettin Altun, and the President's Chief Advisor on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çagatay Kılıç.

On the NATO website, it was noted that Rutte praised Turkey for its "strong support of the Ukrainian defense industry with ammunition, artillery, and necessary assistance." Additionally, NATO emphasized Ankara's key role in initiatives such as the Black Sea Grain Agreement.

The Secretary General also recognized Turkey for its "commitment to the collective security of the Alliance." According to Rutte, the country has the second-largest army in NATO and spends over 2% of its GDP on defense.
