Власти Великобритании ввели новый пакет санкций против российского теневого нефтяного флота. Под ограничения попали 30 судов.

The UK authorities have introduced a new package of sanctions against Russia's shadow oil fleet. A total of 30 vessels are now subject to these restrictions.

This information was published on the website of the British government.

Despite sanctions, Russia has increased the capacity of its shadow tanker fleet by 70% – a studyDespite sanctions, Russia is rapidly expanding its shadow fleet of oil tankers. In June, 70 percent of Russian maritime oil was transported using this fleet.

It is noted that this represents the "largest package of sanctions from the UK" against Russia's shadow fleet. The restrictions will also affect the operations of insurance companies that cover these vessels.

"Half of the ships transported oil and petroleum products, such as gasoline, worth over $4.3 billion just in the past year, making this the largest British package of its kind," the statement said.

London believes that the implementation of such restrictions will "further limit the Kremlin's ability to finance its illegal war in Ukraine and its harmful activities worldwide," bringing the total number of oil tankers under sanctions to 73.

Recall that recently President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia's shadow fleet has brought in more money to the Kremlin than all external financial support to Ukraine from partners since the beginning of the full-scale war.

Earlier, media reported that Russia's shadow fleet could provoke a large-scale ecological disaster.
