Bezrukova noted that the supervisory board made a unanimous decision to extend her contract, and the draft resolution was sent to the Ministry of Defense.
"All documents are properly executed. Therefore, my position remains unchanged: the Defense Procurement Agency operates in accordance with the law and the needs of the Armed Forces," Bezrukova emphasized.
Commenting on the post by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov regarding the non-renewal of her contract, Bezrukova stated that "this appears to be an attempt to undermine all the reforms that have been announced and promised to society."
According to Bezrukova, during a conversation with Umerov a week ago, there were no complaints against her.
"Some of my legislative initiatives were accepted. Tasks were delineated in accordance with the contracts currently being executed. I reiterate: no complaints were expressed to me, just like throughout the previous year. In fact, I am surprised by the situation, because if the minister had provided information that I or the agency had acted improperly, we would certainly have corrected it," Bezrukova explained.
On January 24, Umerov announced that the current CEO of the State Rear Operator, Arsen Jumadilov, would be appointed as the director of the Defense Procurement Agency.
The latter confirmed on Facebook that he "agreed to take on the responsibility for purchasing lethal supplies in, to put it mildly, a challenging time."
"Building a systematic approach to supplying the troops is my sole objective. I promise to do my utmost to accomplish this task. At the same time, I remain the head of the State Rear Operator. Moving forward – it's all about work. Details will follow later," Jumadilov wrote.
At the same time, Bezrukova stated to "Suspilne" that she remains the acting head of the Defense Procurement Agency according to the law and does not understand how Jumadilov can be appointed as the head of the Agency without violating laws and procedures.
"I genuinely do not understand how this can be done without violating all possible laws and all possible reforms, all our promises made to our partners who support us and who are closely monitoring what is currently happening with the Defense Procurement Agency and defense procurement," she noted.
