Bezrukov: I urge the President of Ukraine to intervene and put a stop to the dismantling of the Defense Procurement Agency.

The director of the State Enterprise "Defense Procurement Agency" (AOZ), Marina Bezrukova, reached out to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on her Facebook page, urging him to intervene in the conflict situation surrounding the AOZ.
Безрукова: Призываю президента Украины вмешаться и предотвратить разрушение Агентства оборонных закупок.

In an open letter to the president, Bezrukova stated that the essence of the problem lies not in attempts to dismiss her from her position, but in the actual destruction of the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) with violations of Ukrainian laws and international obligations. In her view, the only correct way out of this crisis is to protect the DPA through legal means.

"After the appointment of an acting head through a questionable legal method, which also combines this position with another job, the agency's operations have effectively been blocked. For an entire week, payment documents according to contracts made by the agency in external and internal markets were not signed. Contracts that had been prepared and agreed upon by all market participants were not concluded, and a number of important deals were terminated. Hundreds of important documents were intentionally put on standby," the statement reads.

Bezrukova emphasized that meeting the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine requires a different pace of work, and it is impossible to effectively manage the DPA while working only a few hours a day in a part-time capacity.

"I urge the President of Ukraine to intervene in the situation and:

  1. Stop the destruction of the Defense Procurement Agency.
  2. Ensure that the conflict is resolved solely through legal means.
  3. Guarantee the full and stable functioning of the DPA without pressure, blockages, and attacks.

I sincerely appreciate the support that the Defense Procurement Agency team has received during these days," Bezrukova stated.
