The statement was made during his evening address to the nation.

Zelensky mentioned that he personally discussed the situation with the commander of the Air Forces today. Following their conversation, it was decided not to reduce the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Today, there was a lot of different information, outrage, and discussions concerning transfers. I instructed to clarify everything to the public and not to reduce the number of specialists needed by the Air Forces to fulfill combat tasks – our aviation, air defense, and mobile fire groups,” the president stated.

He also noted that he received a report from the military regarding the situation at the front, the defense forces' needs for weapons, and relevant supplies, but he did not disclose any details.

Let us remind you that it became known today that the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received an order to transfer a large number of military personnel to the Ground Forces to replenish combat brigades. According to media reports, the transfer of personnel was authorized by the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. According to the order, more than 5,000 servicemen are allegedly to be transferred to the Ground Forces.

The General Staff confirmed that some transfers to the Ground Forces are indeed happening; however, this does not apply to aviation specialists.

Moreover, the Air Forces promised that the transfer of engineering and aviation service specialists to units of other branches and types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not take place.
