Президент отметил, что приоритетом должны быть поставки ракет и снижение военного потенциала россии, а не снижение призывного возраста в Украине.

Ukraine should not compensate for the lack of equipment and training with the youth of soldiers; instead, the focus should be on supporting the existing brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on social media X

“There is a lot of discussion in the media about lowering the conscription age for Ukrainians to send them to the front. We need to concentrate on equipping the existing brigades with technology and training personnel to use this technology. We should not compensate for the lack of equipment and training with the youth of soldiers”, he wrote.

The Ukrainian leader emphasized that the priority should be on supplying missiles and diminishing Russia's military potential rather than lowering the conscription age in Ukraine.

“The most important thing is to work together on how to end this war. This is indeed our main priority. This is what we focused on during the meeting in Paris, and it was a very productive conversation. I would like to thank President Macron once again for organizing it, and I am also deeply grateful to President Trump for his firm determination to conclude this war justly”, Zelensky stressed.

The President added that this is the right approach, and it is crucial that all details are thoroughly worked out to ensure a truly strong peace.

According to him, the United States is capable of achieving extraordinary results. To succeed in concluding the Russo-Ukrainian war, unity among America, Europe, and all those in the world who value security, as well as strong positions and guarantees of peace, is essential.

“I told President Trump that Putin fears only him and possibly China. Only determination can bring this war to a just conclusion and ensure lasting peace. We must act now to restore the proper international order”, he concluded.

As is known, Ukraine is considering the possibility of conscripting 18-year-olds due to pressure from the United States.

It is worth noting that recently the U.S. called on Ukraine to lower the mobilization age to 18 to increase the number of servicemen to fight Russia at the front. In response to these calls, Zelensky accused the U.S. of delaying arms supplies.

Furthermore, it is known that on October 9, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill that prohibits the conscription of men aged 18 to 25 who are fit for limited service. The President has not yet signed this law.
