The World Bank is providing Ukraine with a new support package worth $750 million. The funds will be allocated under the project “Support for Recovery through Sound Fiscal Management.”
This was announced by Prime Minister Dennis Shmyhal.
“The implementation of the program will help strengthen the work of state institutions in wartime, providing essential government services to citizens in full. The reforms under the project aim to enhance the efficiency of public investment management and government finances. If necessary, funding may be increased,” he stated.
According to the World Bank's website, the funding includes $450 million from the Japan-supported ADVANCE Ukraine trust fund and a $300 million loan from the Special Program of the International Development Association (IDA) for the recovery of Ukraine and Moldova.
Recall that just a few days ago in Washington, Ukraine and the World Bank signed agreements to allocate nearly $600 million under a new program.
Additionally, the World Bank's Board of Directors approved the creation of a special trust fund to assist Ukraine.
