The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their positions within Kurakhove, Donetsk region, so it's inaccurate to say that the occupying Russian troops have completely taken the city.
This was stated by the spokesperson of the OSHV "Khortytsia," Viktor Trehubov, during a broadcast on "Suspilne."
"According to my information, battles are ongoing in the area of Kurakhove. In particular, Ukrainian positions are being held at the thermal power station located in the city of Kurakhove, so we cannot say that Russian forces have completely taken the city. Although, of course, a large part of the city has simply been reduced to rubble. This must be acknowledged," said Trehubov.
He noted that since Ukrainian troops still maintain positions within the city limits, "we cannot speak of any withdrawal." The situation in the city is complex. However, such statements about full occupation are not objective.
As is known, the DeepState project reported on January 11 that the Russian army had completely occupied the city of Kurakhove in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.
It should be recalled that on January 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense also claimed full occupation of Kurakhove in Donetsk. In response to the Russian statements, the OSHV "Khortytsia" reacted. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also acknowledged that Kurakhove has been so destroyed that there is simply nowhere to hold defense.
