It is known that "Taneko" is one of the largest and most modern oil refineries in Russia, capable of processing over 16 million tons of oil annually. According to Kovalenko, the refinery plays a crucial role in supplying fuel to the Russian army.

In Tatarstan, there was a strike on the oil refinery 'Taneko'. This is not the first incident at this refinery. The previous drone attack on the refinery in spring 2024 damaged the primary processing unit at the plant. The distance from the front is over 1000 km,” he added.

The Telegram channel Baza reported that employees were evacuated from the refinery premises. A "Carpet" plan was implemented at Nizhnekamsk airport.

On January 11, it was reported that after the attack by Ukrainian forces, the oil depot in the Russian city of Engels has been burning for four consecutive days.

The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the drone attack on Russian territory and occupied Crimea in the night of January 11. Russian officials claim that their air defense allegedly shot down 85 drones.
